TURKISH MALL, GAMES, AND SOCCER

Today we got up at our leisure and had a nice breakfast in the apartment. We soon realized that we had to be at the movie theater in 30min and no one was ready. The girls were all going to see The Fault in Our Stars, Turkish style. In the mean time the guys went to the barber to get a shave. Mom, Jo, and I needed to get to the mall and we were planning on taking a cab. We weren’t sure which way to go and were proud of ourselves when we arrived at the right place. We met the Keppler girls there, got tickets, and headed in. The theater seemed very futuristic. The movie was very good, as expected. In the Turkish theater they do an intermission half way through for ten minutes, then continue on with the movie.
We met the guys at a coffee shop in the mall after their shave. We saw the pictures and it was fun to hear about it. We headed to lunch at a restaurant in the mall that was Italian. They had pastas, sandwiches, crepes, and gelato. It was very good. The Kepplers had to go and run a few errands, so the McDonalds explored the mall a bit. It was a slight challenge finding our way out.
Once out of the mall we headed back to the part of town we are more familiar with. We got some snacks, Turkish delight, and bread. Everywhere you went everyone would give you samples of their food to try.
We headed to a coffee shop to play some backgammon. I learned how to play, since everyone else already knew, then we had a little tournament. I came out on top! …Beginners luck I think. We killed several hours there, and then met up with the Kepplers for dinner.
Mr. Keppler had a late night soccer match so we went to watch.
The soccer game was fun! Joelle, Aleah, Mom, Mr. Keppler, Sierra, and I all piled in a cab to get there. We watched, talked, played, and experienced a traditional Turkish toilet. If you just look at the picture it will all make sense. I wasn’t sure what you were supposed to do at first, but Aleah explained it to me. We had a great time and then all piled back in the cab to get home.
We have a big day tomorrow, so we all went to get rested up!
