A slightly earlier morning than usual resulted in a more relaxing day at our destination. The same driver who brought us back to San Jose from La Fortuna brought us to San Gerardo de Dota today. It is a very remote property that reminds me a little bit of summer camp. There are lots of activities spread around the property, a lodge, a restaurant, and cabins. There's a little something for everyone to do. The hotel is at the bottom of a valley in a cloud forest. While driving down the valley we looked over the edge and saw the main lodge at the very bottom, way down there.

Leading up to lunch everyone was able to satisfy their desires. Joey took a nap, Mom and Papa walked the trails, Dad took some calls, Nana hung out on the porch while enjoying the beautiful views, and I read my book non-stop.

We all enjoyed a wonderful lunch together while playfully competing in a game of Five Crowns, which mom destroyed us all in. Most of the food they serve is grown here on the property. They have a hydrophobic farm, gardens, and a trout pond. ¡Almuerzo fue muy rico!

After lunch we all headed to the main lodge where we continued the fun. Some played pool, some read, we played more cards, tried new drinks, went on mini adventures, and all hung out. Mom and Dad watched the trout fish get fed; Papa explored the property looking for birds and taking pictures.

For the first time of the trip I heard someone respond to "Gracias" with "De Nada." It has always been "con mucho gusto," "mucho gusto," or "Pura Vida." I found this very interesting.

Our first full day together as a group has been quite entertaining and fun. By the end of the night we realized we may actually be the only ones staying here.
