We got a little extra sleep this morning, had a wonderful breakfast, packed our bags, and headed off to the airport. Arriving there very early we got to wait in the VIP lounge. We got to eat lunch there, a very good soup, and hang out until the bus picked us up to take us to our gate. We had a short flight back to Istanbul, and we weren’t affected by the Malaysian plane crash in Ukraine. The taxi ride to our apartment was an adventure for sure. The driving here is totally insane. It is much, much busier here in Istanbul than it was in Selçuk. Lots of traffic and crazy driving. It reminds me of New York City, only crazier. Once we arrived the nice man who owns the apartment we are staying in told us about it and how to get around the town. We have a gorgeous view outside our apartment of the Bosphorous Straight which divides the Asian and European sides of Istanbul. We went to dinner at a small restaurant in town. It was the layout of a Chipotle except with Turkish foods. It was pretty good. The place must be very popular because it was busy! We stopped at a market on our walk home to pick up some things for the apartment. We have a good view of the city, and it is very pretty at night with all of the lights.
