After nearly twenty-four hours of travel, we have arrived in Mumbai, India! Getting on and off the planes leading up to India, the weather was bitter. However, getting off the plane in Mumbai, the humidity immediately engulfed us. So far, we have experienced nothing but immense kindness. The driving, though, gave us flash backs to our Turkey trip: it is a little scary. I surely would not want to be the driver. There must be some system in place, but to me, it appears to be everyone for themselves, with the cars only leaving a couple inches between one another. The streets we drove through were busy with activity and people. It was difficult to see much between the darkness and the traffic, but I am looking forward to exploring the city tomorrow. Prerna bought a traditional Indian snack at the airport for us to try. I cannot remember what she said they were called, but I would describe them as a type of hash brown. When I google "Indian Hash Browns," Aloo Ki Tikki came up, so perhaps, that is what they are called. She told me they would be a little spicy, and at first, I said, "spicy?" She assured me it would come, and sure enough, it did. After sleeping so much on the plane, we have a little bit too much energy for midnight. Tomorrow is a busy day though, so we need to will ourselves to sleep.
