I woke up this morning sore, especially my hips. I packed up my stuff for the day though and walked to school with Makaela. The route is no longer in question. During our first class, we worked more on the present subjunctive and wrote stories. The stories rotated though and each group added on to another group’s story. Makaela and I’s story started out as a cross between Dear John and the Fault in Our Stars. Somehow, it was one of the only stories to have a happy ending. During our second class, we worked more with food vocabulary and played games. Our school day was completed, as usual, with work on our group project. Our escape room is coming along, but I can’t tell if it will be difficult or not.

Following lunch in the park, the juniors plus another group from Ireland started the walk to the beach. The long way Makaela and I took yesterday was the way we went again today. Apprehensively we both followed along, but it was hot. Finally arriving at the aquarium, we entered and got to look around as we wanted. The first section of the aquarium was all boat models. There were some unique boats, but we were excited for the fish. There were jellyfish, starfish, seahorses, sharks, stingrays, sea urchin, a lobster type animal, and even an octopus, although it never came out. It is a small aquarium, nothing compared to Denver, but there was a tunnel to walk through and some fun fish to watch.

Although it had begun to cool off outside, we all headed to the beach. There was some amazing sand art drawn out when we got there. I can’t quite figure out how someone was able to do it all: very impressive. Some of the group then swam to a platform out in the water, but I stayed back with the other part of the group, deciding it wasn’t warm enough to brave the cold water. We played in the sand and in the waves and took pictures. It was quickly realized that we should have at least put swim suits on because the waves soaked us. It was fun none the less, and I played a catch type game with some boys in the group afterward.

Back at my host family’s house, I had chicken noodle soup for dinner and talked to my host mom for awhile. We largely talked about what I want to study in college, but I also showed her some of my pictures from this trip. We have done quite a bit and still have much more to do.
