After an exciting start to the vacation and many fun activities we were ready to take it easy for a day. We took the morning to sleep in a little and then went to the breakfast buffet. One of the hostesses, that we have seen on many accounts, had memorized our room number and kindly made polite conversation with us. After eating more food than we deemed possible it was back to the room to finish packing.
Having filled our previous days with adventures that made us just hit the pillow when we returned to the hotel, we realized we hadn't explored the hotel property. Mom and I went on a short walk through some of the gardens and other areas of the resort, but shortly into it decided it was a little hot out. Fortunately the day we did our big hike it was cool and rainy rather than hot.
Our stay at Tabacón came to an end when our driver picked us up around noon. A nice boy, Fred, help us get our things into the bus and then we were headed back to San José. The drive back was about three hours, but we stopped half way to satisfy our appetites. To my pleasure it was a typical Costa Rican meal, arroz con pollo.
Returning to the city we checked back in to Adventure Inn. The hotel is very unique with animal paintings on the walls and an elaborate fountain in the middle with live fish inside and animal sculptures surrounding. The afternoon consisted of reading and relaxing.
The Costa Rica v. United States futból match was tonight; one we couldn't resist going somewhere to watch seeing as we are in Costa Rica. Just up the road from the hotel is Hard Rock Cafe. A short drive and three dollars later we found ourselves in the midst of excited Ticos. There was a large screen and several smaller ones set up around the cafe projecting the game. There were roars of noise every time something happened in favor of the Costa Rican team. Keeping our support for the United States team on the down low we were thrilled to find the United States win 4-0, but didn't stick around to watch the Tico's reaction.
Everyone is excited to pick Joey up tomorrow and have Nana and Papa join in the adventures.
