BADEMLIK [bod-ehm lik]

There is a street that leads up to our hotel in Selçuk named Bademlik. We used it to get to and from the hotel almost every time. Our dad kept pronouncing it “bad milk”, knowing it was wrong. We asked the gentleman at the hotel how you really pronounced it. After he pronounced it my dad said “oh, that’s much better!” and my mom looked at him and said “Really? Is it?” I guess he didn’t realize that it sounded more like bottom lick the way you were supposed to pronounce it. That is now our favorite street in Selçuk.
